The difference between then and than

  • You can use the word then instead of next
    • “First you put on your shoes, then you tie them.”
    • “There were ten people in the room, then some of them left.”
  • The word than is only used for comparisons
    • “Ten is more than seven.”
    • “You are definitely smarter than them.”

You cannot mix them up!
If you do it right, people will love you!
